This project aims at reducing the negative effects of mariculture on the environment by applying progressive biotechniques. In order to adequately handle fluxes of matter and energy in an aquaculture system, modern biotechnologies need to be developed. The knowledge gained throughout this project will be forwarded to economy with the goal of establishing a growing market. Not only environmental apects but also profitability of such facilities can thus be improved.
